Your questions - Our answers

A gynecological ultrasound is always useful when changes or complaints in the abdomen need to be clarified – for example, in the case of menstrual irregularities, pain, bleeding or for monitoring after operations. Ultrasounds also provide important information if you want to have children, to assess the uterus and ovaries or to monitor fibroids and cysts. Many women also have it carried out regularly as part of a preventive check-up.

You will usually find out the results immediately after the examination. Our doctor will discuss the images with you on site, explain the findings clearly and answer your questions. If required, you will also receive the report in writing so that you can pass it on to your gynecologist.

Yes, in most cases an ultrasound examination is also possible during menstruation. However, depending on the issue, it may be advisable to schedule the appointment outside of menstruation – for example, if the lining of the uterus needs to be assessed in detail. We will be happy to advise you on the best time for your appointment.

After a short preliminary consultation, the examination takes place in a relaxed atmosphere. A vaginal ultrasound is usually performed, as this provides particularly accurate images. A narrow probe is carefully inserted – the procedure is painless and only takes a few minutes. The examination is carried out by experienced specialists and is transparent for you at all times: If you wish, we can explain the images directly on the monitor.
